Cooperation continues in specific area

The technical cooperation between Angola and Germany continues in the field of occupational safety, though without GIZ/BMZ involvement. The Centre of Security and Health at Work (CSST), the first institution in Angola devoted to the promotion of control of the health of employees, became a member of the International Social Security Association (ISSA). The ISSA is an organisation of more than 340 institutions from 158 countries with headquarters in the ILO in Geneva. Its objective is to promote and enhance social security worldwide. In addition to CSST, two more Angolan entities became corresponding members of ISSA: INEFOP and IGT (Inspectorado Geral do Trabalho). The cooperation agreed upon comprises training courses both in Angola and Germany, as well as mutual visits, all related to occupational safety with a special focus on the occupation electrician.
